High School Athletics Complex Improvements
Woodhaven, MI | Completed 2023
As part of a larger bond program, Woodhaven-Brownstown School District was able to transition an open area on their high school campus that consisted of practice fields and underutilized space into a premier baseball and softball complex complete with artificial turf.
It was important to the district to create a first-class destination facility for athletics that engages, empowers, and inspires student athletes. The complex was also designed to promote accessibility for all students, athletes, and community members regardless of gender or physical abilities.
Sports & Recreation

Along with new fields, the complex includes a new entry, restrooms, concessions, dug outs, and storage facilities. The turf fields’ design helps Woodhaven promote a sense of school pride with bold logos and school colors that evoke a collegiate feel to the complex. A multipurpose turf practice field located near the complex provides practice space for auxiliary sports and includes a band tower. Extensive planning for the new storm drainage and impact on storm water detention/retention for the site was completed prior to the fields’ installation.
The Woodhaven-Brownstown School District currently serves more than 5,500 students and their new athletics complex serves their mission to become a destination for excellence.
